So- as mentioned previously, I’m running a panel this year at AUSA.
The name of the panel is Enter Command: A Homestuck Choose Your Own Adventure Panel, and the idea is basically that it’s long-form improvisation. We start with a given scenario, and then audience members are able to “Enter Commands” which affect that way that the situation develops. The idea is to mimic and pay homage to the MSPA’s original reader-driven format.
At this point, I’ve got most of my cast together, but there are still a few roles as-of-yet unfilled. And so- I’m holding open auditions for the parts of:
- Sollux
- Kanaya
- Terezi
- Equius
- Eridan
- Feferi
- Jake
- Roxy
- Dirk
If you’re interested in auditioning, please send a video of yourself to relissoawesome@gmail.com, as well as the following information:
- Your availability/flexibility during AUSA weekend and to rehearse via Skype in the weeks preceding it.
- Any prior experience you may have with acting, improvisation, or panels.
A video audition should in full costume, although if you’re going for a troll you need not be in full grey.
The video audition should showcase your ability to portray your character and to respond spontaneously. Listed below are some examples of things I’d like to hear you talk about (in-character), but you should also be able to come up with other things for your character to talk about or do- the strength of the panel rests on the strength of the panelists improvisational skills!
- Who would you say your best friend is?
- How do you like to spend your free time?
- What do you think about Sburb/Sgrub?
- Why do you like whichever strife specibus you use?
- Is there anything that you are afraid of?
- How did you meet your friends?
- What do you think of your guardian/lusus?
And/or describe how you would react to the following prompts:
- You’re running late for a meeting with friends.
- You’ve just entered the Medium and arrived on your planet.
- You are facing an enemy that is clearly too powerful for you to defeat.
- You’ve just seen your best friend die.
- Someone has played a prank on you.
- You’re chatting with someone that you admire for the first time.
- You’ve just learned that something you thought was fake (magic/Ancestors/the Batterwitch/etc) is actually real.
The deadline for submitting auditions is Sunday, October 28, at midnight.

Hanyaan as Kurloz Makara
So I finished my Kurloz costume before Halloween and I was able to have a photoshoot with two of my friends in a borrowed studio with a fog machine and stuff. I’m posting the first photographer’s today, and the second one’s tomorrow :D I’m really tiny and this costume does not help with that, and there’s a few things that went wrong last minute that I’d like to repair later, but this was REALLY fun.
